Hi my name is Marggie and my goal is to open new doors of opportunities for dancers in Peru. I am an Afro-Peruvian descendant born in the US, but I grew up in a culturally rich and artistic family. I work closely with local artists in New Jersey through my platform called Bloom NJ (@Bloom_nj on instagram) and have also experienced the Afro dance scene in New York City. I want to bring that same warmth and welcoming environment for dancers in Peru. Living in Peru doesn't present the same opportunities as they do here. Most of the dancers are self-taught in the genre and the majority don't get to spotlight or properly develop their talents because of lack of resources or being out of reach from the knowledge and practice that they would need. I'm planning on taking a professional Afrohouse instructor to host workshops in Peru and give dancers the opportunity to train and develop their skills. Right now my financial status is limiting and I would be eternally grateful for all the help I could get with getting professional dancer, Willy Noir, from the Netherlands to Peru who will be helping me realize this vision. I am based in New Jersey and flight tickets to Peru have gotten expensive. The workshop would be scheduled for the first week of June since it is celebrated as the month of Afro-Peruvian Culture in Peru. I can't move forward with plans without securing the flight tickets first. If you are a Creative or have ever been moved by art in any form, then you'd know how powerful and life changing it can really be. Please help us inspire a community and make an event that could be life changing for someone in Peru possible! Thank you to whomever took the time to read this. A link to the dancer's profile is attached for you to see his talent and international impact. A link to my profile will also be attached so you could see who's behind this campaign! If this trip gets to happen I would be happy vlog the experience and post the results on my page! Thank you :)
