My Story: From the Heart of Barbados to the Heart of Spain
Hello everyone! I'm Jamal Griffith, and I'm excited to share my journey with you. Growing up in beautiful Barbados, my weekends were filled with adventures alongside my father, a taxi operator at the Long Beach Hotel. From as early as six years old, I tagged along on his island tours, often jumping in to help host. Those moments with my dad sparked a lifelong passion for tourism and hospitality that continues to shape my dreams today.

My Career Journey
I've worn many hats over the years, each one bringing me closer to my dream. I've been a secondary school teacher, a watersports operator at Bougainvillea, a videographer, a restaurant manager and caterer for nine years, and even a part-time real estate agent. Balancing these roles while being a young father taught me resilience and the importance of hard work.

In 2006, I stepped into the role of Floor Manager at Pisces Restaurant in St. Lawrence Gap, spending eight wonderful years there. In 2015, I became the Sales and Marketing Manager at Bougainvillea Barbados and the all-inclusive resort Sugar Bay Barbados. During my six-year tenure, I led successful campaigns, including a rebranding effort that resulted in record-breaking revenue and occupancy rates, far exceeding expectations.

Global Advocacy and Leadership
My passion for promoting Barbados on the global stage has taken me to some incredible places. I've attended high-level conventions like CHTA Caribbean Marketplace, the Caribbean Tech & Travel Summit in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and UNITE Caribbean and the World Travel Market in London. As a Board Member of the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association (BHTA) and Chairman of the Young Leaders Committee, I worked tirelessly to showcase our island's beauty and potential. I also participate in the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), contributing to forums and task forces focused on innovation in tourism.

A New Chapter: Pursuing a Master's Degree in Spain
Now, I'm ready for the next exciting chapter. I've been accepted into a prestigious Master's program in Management and Marketing for Luxury Tourism in Spain. This opportunity is a dream come true, perfectly aligning with my aspirations to further my education and contribute even more to the tourism industry in Barbados and the Caribbean.

Why I Need Your Help
Studying abroad is a significant financial commitment. While I've been fortunate to receive two grants and am seeking a student loan, I still face a financial gap. I'm determined to make the most of this opportunity, balancing my studies with a job, but I need your support to cover the remaining costs of tuition, travel, and living expenses in Spain. Your contribution will not only help me achieve my educational goals but also allow me to bring back valuable knowledge and experience to benefit our community and region.

Join Me on This Journey
I'm incredibly passionate about tourism, and I believe that with advanced education and training, I can make a substantial impact. By supporting my campaign, you're investing in the future of Barbados and the Caribbean's tourism industry.

A Little More About Me
Outside of my professional life, I'm a proud father to my nine-year-old son, Jackson, and my fifteen-year-old daughter, Malia. They are the center of my world, and every step I take is with them in mind.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I launched a successful street food venture called ‘A Pizza Tho,’ which has since grown into the highly-rated bar and restaurant, Chattel Kitchen Bar House. As a health and fitness enthusiast, I also participate in the Barbados Adventure Race (BAR) and conduct guided sight-running tours of our beautiful island through my initiative, Bridgetown Running Tours.

How You Can Help
Your support means the world to me. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to achieving my dream. Please consider donating and sharing my campaign with your network. Together, we can make this dream a reality and create a brighter future for Barbados and the Caribbean.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for your generous support.
