"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all" - Aristotle

10 years, T-E-N years I've been in the profession of Early Childhood Education on a tiny island called Singapore. I am about to complete my degree specializing in Early Childhood knowing that the government isn't going to accredit my degree. I want to make a differerence in Singapore's outdated view of this profession by learning from another counterpart who respects their teachers and gives their utmost in the Early Childhood profession. Afterall, it's the first few years of the children's development that is the most important!

Japan hails a powerful Early Childhood Education system which places them in the top few positions in this profession. Holistic curriculum for development, educated teachers who are viewed highly respectable, children who are imparted with good morals and values and children's parents who are understanding and cooperative. I want to learn from Japan so that I can play my part in incoporating these values, ideas and beliefs into Singapore's education system.

I will be volunteering at kindergartens, child care centres as well as student cares centres to learn. It will be a sabbatical journey for myself to find reignite the passion in this profession so that I can learn and impart the knowledge to my fellow countrymen. I'll be documenting my journal in my blog.
