My Travel Story

     For as long as I can remember, I have had this immense interest in Japan, their culture, history, arts, cuisine, and everything in between. This deep love for the country ony continued to grow as I did, and allow me to reach new respects in the way these people live. Now that I am attending University, I have a once in a lifetime chance to be able to visit the country I have dreamed about for such a long time now through their study abroad program.

     This program lasts about just a month where we will travel to Nagano, Japan in Ueda City where the Japanese Alps are located. We will be able to visit many things I have always wanted to try and see. These include different important historical museums and religious shrines that are deeply embedded into their culture, castles, traditional tea ceremonies, cuisines and arts, learning their language, and traveling the mountains. We will also attend three separate classes pertaining to their culture, history, cuisine, arts, language, and their Alps. Along with this are the different opportunities to take in everything they have to offer and allow myself to be completely immersed - pursuing my passion in the best way possible.

     I have been, and will continue to, work hard in order to raise money so I may persue my studies and travels in Japan. I have never traveled outside of the country before, and see this opportunity as a once in a lifetime chance to take. There have been many hardships I have been through in my life including dark times with major depression and other mental illness difficulties, but I have always lived through it, grew from them, and come out as a stronger person. This trip means so much more to me outside of the academic benefits due to my extensive personal interest in the country as a whole. These donations will go towards the entire trip including room and board, food, travel costs, my plane ticket(s), and the program itself. If you feel compelled to donate I would be forever grateful and deeply appreciative - anything and everything helps! It will not be just me traveling, but anyone else who helps me along the way!
