My Travel Story

My name is Hawi, and I am from Ethiopia. I am a recent Arts and Human Sciences graduate and aspiring clothes designer. I, too, am autistic. I am ambitious, creative, and full of hopes and aspirations. But I'm afraid I won't be able to accomplish any of them since living in Ethiopia kills the souls of gifted kids and ruins our ambitions and dreams. I've lived through five wars and am still traumatized by them.

 

My greatest ambition is to study abroad, and I have been attempting to do so for the past six years. I've applied to numerous institutions and schools, but whenever I'm accepted, I discover that the funds I have would not pay my expenditures. I knocked on many doors until melancholy, disappointment, worry, and hopelessness were my constant companions. I've chosen to start a fundraising in the hopes of finding a way to continue my studies and live a better life in a country where people have human rights and are valued for who they are. Finally, I believe there are wonderful people out there, therefore with your help, I will be able to accomplish my ambition, live new adventures, and not be concerned about the future.
