Hello,

Thank you for visiting my campaign and learning a little about me and why I am raising funds for this life-changing trip to Ireland. 

I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) for a Title 1 school with a high-needs and high-risk population of students and families. The majority of my students are bilingual, and making sure I am effectively evaluating and providing the best care and interventions are my priority. I have had to overcome many challenges to fulfill my dream of being an SLP, and I want to show my students that they can do the same and succeed at anything they want to do in life. 

To better support my students, I need training to deepen my knowledge and understanding of bilingualism, language processing, assessment, intervention, and cultural humility. An incredible organization, Bilinguistics, provides yearly study abroad trips, to help fill that need to support SLPs and students around the world. This year's trip will be to Ireland and the skills I will learn there will apply to each and every one of my students. With the recent loss of family members and economic challenges, I wouldn't be able to receive this training and immersive learning experience without your support.
