My Travel Story

by: Jaime Chaney Start Date: Oct 6, 2024 - End Date: Feb 5, 2025
Dear Friend,

I hope this finds you well. I am writing to you on behalf of a mother and son who had to leave everything behind to escape an abusive home.

This is a story of resilience, courage, and the indomitable spirit of a mother determined to provide a better life for her son. It is a story that makes us realize the power of community, and the difference it can make to someone's life.

Meet our protagonist, Jaime. Jaime and her 7-year-old son Kolten had to leave their home due to her brother's hostile takeover. He was addicted to fentanyl, and their lives turned into a living nightmare. He physically and mentally abused Jaime and her son, even going as far as stealing her paycheck/money while she was asleep.

With no other choice, Jaime and her son moved to a town where they knew no one. They lived in a shelter for nine months before finally getting their own apartment. Jaime found a job in the community, obtained her driver's license for the first time in 19 years, and was gifted a car by a kind lady who understood her struggle.

However, life had another challenge in store for Jaime. The car, which is their only means of transportation, broke down. The automatic clutches need replacement as well as all 4 tires. Without this vehicle, Jaime risks losing everything she has worked so hard to build and new job as a medical courier, a job that has given her hope for a fresh start.

We are reaching out to you today to ask for your help. We believe in the power of community, in the kindness of strangers, and in the idea that together, we can make a difference. Your donation will not only help fix Jaime's car but also give her peace of mind knowing that she won't have to go back to her abusive brother.

No amount is too small. Every dollar counts and will make a significant difference in Jaime's life.

Please consider donating to this cause. You can make a one-time donation or opt for monthly installments. Your contribution will go directly toward fixing Jaime's car and ensuring she can continue to work and provide for her son.

Your support means the world to Jaime and her son. Together, you can help them keep their fresh start and build a safer, brighter future.

                                                 Sincerely,
A Caring Friend and Kolten Chaney
