My Travel Story

Hi there! My name is Kelly Ramirez, I'm a first gen. student studying politcial science and spanish. Here is why I plan on studying/interning abroad this summer!
This program would help me initiate my future career by allowing me to visit a country I’ve never been to before, and help me learn more in depth about their culture, customs, and society as a whole. I believe it’s crucial to understand cultural differences and learn about other cultures in order to be able to interact better with people from all backgrounds. Because I plan on working with people from different countries than I am from, I think this experience will help me start this process. Another way this program would be beneficial to me is that it will help me stand out when I am applying for more internships in the future as well as future job applications. This program will show future employers that I have experience in a foregin country and that I am able to work in places that I am not completely familiar with. I also believe this program will help me to learn and be more appreciative of Japan’s beautiful and unique culture. It would be such an amazing experience to learn more about this nation first hand and be able to appreciate this nation’s culture in person. 
I believe I would be a good candidate for this program because I am interested and genuinely passionate to work with people from all around the world. I want to be able to learn more about countries I am currently unfamiliar with in order to better understand and appreciate the world we live in. I also believe this program would be a great way to initiate my work with foregin nations, despite language barriers.
