This is for a study abroad that I recently got into through a competitive audition, it is in Florence, Italy, and it is a 3 week intensive dance program where I will learn about the culture and history of Italy, while also discovering new approaches to dance. I plan to become a Dance Movement Therapist, a non-verbal way to therapy for those who do not have the words to express themselves. I want to use this experience to gain new perspectives of the people in this world and apply dance to help them heal. I want to eventually create a non-profit Dance Movement Therapy center for it to be accessable to people from all different backgrounds.
