My Travel Story

I have always been passionate about making a positive impact on the world we live in and building a foundation for social good that my future generations will build upon. I believe that to create a field full of flowers tomorrow, we need to plow the earth and sow the seeds today.

I am currently pursuing my MBA in Marketing and International Business at the Zicklin School of Business in New York City.  I am currently working 2 jobs to put myself and my mother through school as well as to provide the support that my family needs. I understand the value of education and strongly believe that knowledge is power and that with that power comes great responsibility, among which is to spread quality educational programs to the four corners of the world. 

The Emzingo NexGen Fellowship is a mix of leadership and personal development strategies and an opportunity to receive hands-on experience in driving change and creating social programs in South Africa. The fellowship takes place in Johannesburg and is an 8 week program that will give me an opportunity to work on a social impact consultancy project with NGOs, non-profit organizations, and social enterprises within the country. I am prepared to take on the responsibility of being an agent for change and to help as many individuals as possible become a part of the movement. The word “human” needs to be reintroduced into leadership and the value of every single life on this planet emphasized as the ultimate value. Just as the admirable Judge Cardozo believed in setting aside economics to pursue justice and “doing the right thing” in the world of international law, I believe in putting the value of a human life before all the gold in the world. 

I strongly believe that I was put on this earth not solely with the purpose of existence, but to somehow bring positive change to as many people as I can. My ultimate goal is to create a Social Good Ecosystem that consists of a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing education, medical care, healthy food and clean drinking water, and fighting for animal rights all over the world; a social marketing agency that will help businesses create and effectively implement a social mission; and a social good network that will connect people like me all over the world and allow them to come together to create programs and raise global awareness to social issues. Dream big!

I am asking you to make an investment in me today so that in the future, I can give back a hundred-fold to the community and the world. This fellowship is the ground stone on which WE will be able to build the Social Good Ecosystem.
