My Travel Story

Hi all. I am really EXCITED about this once in a lifetime charity trip with Girlguiding and African Adventures. I am going with a group of Girlguiding Leaders to Kenya to help villages with their priorities. Through African Adventures, the villagers come up with what they want to get achieved e.g. teach the children, lesson plans or paint the school rooms, build toilets etc whatever the community needs and the community teach us the skills to do what they need e.g. carpentry etc. So I hope to learn lots of DIY skills too. The trip also includes a visit to a landfill site which 3000 families rely on for income, they make and sell jewellery from what they can - so if anyone wants an item let me know!!
Also anyone that knows me knows I love to help people and I adore animals, especially love giraffes and as part of the trip we are going to a giraffe sanctuary! also a visit to the elephant orphanage and a Maasai Mara adventure weekend.

  • Update On The Fundraising!

    Thank you to all those who attended the Youth Group's St Pirans Day Pasty & Pud lunch, served by the young people of the Youth Group. They did fantastically well and we all had a lovely lunch too. I would also like to thank all those there, as after a quick explanation about why I am going to Kenya and what it was all about, the Guess the number of sweets in the jar raised £49.81 (which also includes the very kind donation from Alison's Mum too) and the winning guess by Mike was exact at 257. Mike very generously divided the sweets between the waiters and waitresses. THANK YOU everyone and I look forward to our next fundraiser x x x x
