My Travel Story

Throughout this breif trip to Italy, I will be doing something far more impactful than sightseeing. I will have a real opportunity to make an impact of refuggees, immigrants, those seeking asylum, those suffering from homelessness and misplaced families and children. While in Italy between June 30-July15, myself and my cohort will be designing and implimenting art therapy practices to help aid these children and families in crisis.Through this program I will gain the neccessary credits and hours towards my degree, as well as my requiered 1000 hours of art therapy fieldwork practice. I am so passionate about this work and this trip will help me to gain experience in working with a variety of families from various countries. This is such a unique opportunity and I would be homored and humbled to be a part of it  Please help me reach my goals by helping me to make a difference in the lives of others abroad.

"Forge connections with local communities in Florence this summer as you practice hands-on art therapy training. Through your work in schools, rehabilitation facilities, orphanages, and other service organizations, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the skills needed as an art therapist. Participants will reflect on their own cultures and value systems and learn to design appropriate art projects for differing cultural and developmental contexts."
