As the daughter of a Mexican immigrant, I have been able to experience things that are in my parent's wildest dreams -- studying abroad being one of them. I am the first in my family to go to college, and I will be the first to study abroad. Traveling outside of our home is not something common in my family, particularly because of financial constraints. However, I took the opportunity to study abroad in Spain because I know that it will be a life-changing experience. This program, in many ways, will open the door for future generations in my family to take a chance, just like I did, and make beautiful memories.
