My Travel Story

Hi! I'm Isabelle and I'm currently a junior at UW-Madison looking to study abroad shortly this summer in Denmark. I'm studying genetics in hopes of becoming a genetic counselor one day and I am planning on taking a class related to my field of study. I just transferred to UW-Madison in the fall after playing 2 years of collegiate volleyball where I had little to no freetime, but now I want to take advantage of every opportunity and one of them is to study in another country! Because I am in school, I try to work as much as possible as a volleyball coach and a pharmacy technician so I can pay for school and rent so any extra funds to study abroad would be greatly appreciated. I chose Denmark because I want to visit Europe to experience the culture and because it is where my family originated. The Danes have a concept of 'Hygge' which means 'to take time away from the daily rush to enjoy the good things in life with the people you care about' and practice it in all seasons, which is something that I am very excited about experiencing. On this trip, I am hoping to make new friendships, learn more about myself, further my education, and enjoy the beauty of a new place.
