My Travel Story
My journey has been one filled with challenges, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring the well-being of my children. I'd like to share my story with you in the hope that you might consider extending a helping hand during this crucial period of my life.
I was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In 1998, I graduated from high school in Chicago, thanks to the unyielding determination of my mother. She was a pillar of strength, ensuring that my sister, my two-year-old son at the time, and I had the support we needed. She shielded us from the domestic violence and drug abuse that plagued her relationship, even moving us away from the harmful environment to protect us.
In 2001, my mother and sister embarked on a fresh start in Atlanta, Georgia, and I followed the next year. Since then, Atlanta has been my home, and I have been striving to build a better life for my family.
However, life took an unexpected turn when I became entangled with a narcissistic and abusive partner in 2014. While I learned valuable lessons from this experience, the physical, verbal, and emotional abuse I endured left scars that continue to affect me deeply.
In May 2019, I gave birth prematurely to a daughter at just 26 weeks due to preeclampsia. At that time, we were facing homelessness for the fourth time since I met this man in 2014. We were living in a motel, struggling to make ends meet, and my baby's health was at risk due to our dire circumstances.
My mental health has suffered tremendously as I've tried to navigate this tumultuous relationship for the sake of our child. This man's manipulative behavior and financial mismanagement have left me in overwhelming debt. I owe over $20,000 to our landlord, and our utilities, including gas and electricity, have been compromised due to unpaid bills.
I've realized that for the sake of my sanity, my children, and our future, I must break free from this toxic relationship. This decision comes after years of emotional turmoil, manipulation, and the realization that I deserve better for myself and my family.
What I am humbly requesting is assistance to regain my independence, self-worth, and self-esteem. I believe that if I can escape this situation and leave behind the financial burdens, I can rebuild my life. My dreams of becoming an entrepreneurial consultant beckon, and I yearn for the opportunity to fulfill them.
I am willing to relocate from Georgia, as a change of environment is what I need to start anew. While it pains me to consider leaving behind the life I've built, I recognize that my well-being and that of my children are paramount.
The loss of my mother in 2017, coupled with the ongoing trauma from this relationship, has left me struggling to properly grieve and heal. I long to find closure and regain control of my life, to honor my mother's memory and provide a better future for my children.
I understand that my request is a significant one, and I am putting aside my pride in the hope that someone, somewhere, may be able to provide the assistance I desperately need. I am willing to work diligently to rebuild my life, and I am open to any guidance, support, or resources that may be available.
