Mental Health placement in Indonesia!
My Travel Story
Whilst I am there I will be running activity sessions at various government initiatives, and schools, for children with specific needs as well as community outreach programs designed to keep elderly residents healthy. I'll also be facilitating therapeutic activity sessions at one of Indonesia's only psychiatric facilities and teaching English within the community.
I currently work as a teaching assistant in the special educational needs department at a secondary school. I have worked and volunteered at schools and non-profit organisations such as 'EquATA', for children with special educational and social needs since I was 18 years old.
Once I graduate I am hoping to become a secondary school teacher and hope that this placement will provide me with valuable experience for this, as well as allowing me to do something I truly love and feel passionate about.
