My Travel Story

Dear Family and Friends,
From the 5th of July 2018, I have the wonderful privilege of volunteering and experiencing Vietnam's beautiful culture. I have been lucky enough to be one out of ten people chosen to partake in this journey with the Sonder Youth organisation.

What will my volunteering experience cover and what will I experience during my stay?
My team and I will be volunteering for 5 days at rural Ba Vi disability centre where we will work with the children living there. Before and after this experience we will be exploring Vietnam, staying in home stays, trying new food and taking part in exciting team challenges. Throughout the entire experience I will participate in training workshops run by Sonder Youth during which I will learn to become a better leader, changemaker and global citizen.

What inspires me to go on this life changing experience?
There are many things I could name but the ones that stand out to me are:
  • Volunteering and helping disabled children,
  • having a lifetime experience in a different cultural setting, and
  • improving my own confidence.
What I would really appreciate from you...
Funding my experience is a big undertaking. Every donation you could make will be very much appreciated. Your donation will give me the ability to not only have a wonderful once in a life time experience but most importantly, give back to the community.

What is my fundraising goal?
My goal is to raise the funds to pay for my flight and internal local travel. In the event that I raise more money, I will donate it to the charity of the Red Lotus foundation, which funds the Ba Vi disability centre where I will be working for 5 days with the disadvantaged children.
