My name is Tyler Varzeas, I am a Secondary Life Science major with a minor in Environmental Studies at Baylor University. One of the many study Abroad programs offered at Baylor is the Environmental Studies trip to Australia. I have always wished to visit another country, Australia being one of my top choices. While in Australia, us students will be analyzing the causes and affects of the bleaching occurring in the Great Barrier Reef, interacting with the Aboriginal peoples of North Queensland, conducting research on marine animals, koalas, cassowaries, and many other animals over the course of three and a half weeks. We will be working to help find ways to help maintain the ecosystems of the rainforests in Australia, as well as exchanging cultural practices with the Aboriginals. This would be an amazing experience for my personal and education growth, as well as my professional experience I will be able to share with my future students in the educational field. I appreciate any amount of help I can get to make this dream a reality, thank you!
