My Travel Story
Hi, I’m mina, a 17 year old girl living in Germany.. This July, when I turn 18, I hope to take a trip I’ve been dreaming about for years: visiting Japan.
I come from a family that could never afford a trip like this, and as a full-time high school student, I’ve been saving and planning as much as I can on my own. Japan has always been more than a place to visit it’s a source of inspiration for me, a goal that has kept me going through challenges and motivated me to learn Japanese.
During my trip, I’ll take a language course, explore Tokyo, and volunteer through Workaway at a hotel to cover accommodation costs. Every contribution will help pay for my flight, food, classes, and experiences that will shape my future. If the money raised isn’t enough, I will continue to use Workaway opportunities to cover the remaining costs myself.
I feel a little awkward asking for money, but I don’t see another way right now to make this dream happen. I promise that one day, when I’m able, I’ll pay it forward and help someone else pursue their dreams.
This trip is also a step toward bigger goals. Next year, I hope to apply for a uni scholarship or an exchange program in Japan after finishing high school. Experiencing the country firsthand will give me perspective, confidence, and motivation to pursue these opportunities.
I’ll be traveling alone, and it’s scary but also exciting. Your support will not just help me get to Japan butit will help me invest in myself and my future. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to making this dream real.
