To possible donors
I am a gardener working @SUSSEXPRAIRIES utilizing my leave from work to undertake a volunteering program on the island of St Eustatius throughout January and Febuary 2018. Undertaking this project means I will be able to positively contribute my time, skills and knowledge to the program, aiding to complete projects and assist with the general ongoing maintenance and tasks of the program.
The main projects and tasks I will be helping with include
1- Helping with trail maintenance including clearances and essential works to prevent soil erosion within the National Parks.
2 - Regular maintenance of the botanical garden including  pruning, watering, weeding, planting etc
3 - Assisting with the removal and eradication of invasive exotic species such as Antigonon leptopus, which has taken over the island subsequently reducing the numbers of native flora.
4 - Assisting iguana patrols in monitoring and breeding of Lesser Antillean Iguana in which the population has become endangered, whilst helping with the maintenance and feeding schedules for the care of juvenile wild iguanas that will be released in adulthood.

Alongside helping with important and essential projects and tasks within this program, undertaking such  a trip will aid in my career and personal development, providing me with further knowledge and skills within horticulture and nature in general.

I thank you for taking the time to read about the project in which I shall be participating in and I hope you feel that like myself this is a worthwhile trip and you will be able to give a small donation to help reduce the financial burden.

Any donations recieved will contribute to the following expenses of the trip
Flight - £1200
Insurance - £200
Cost of project - £1260

I shall soon be delving into the world of social media, which will enable me to provide updates on the trip and share photos and videos of projects and tasks undertaken.
