My Travel Story

by: Caleb Parker Start Date: Oct 29, 2021 - End Date: Apr 28, 2022
Hello everyone! My name is Caleb Parker and I appreciate you taking the time to consider donating for my semester exchange in Rennes, France! I plan on leaving sometime in late December and I plan to return in early April. During my studies in France, I hope to better understand the sides of international business by networking with students and professors as well as actively participating in the classroom while at the Rennes School of Business! This is an opportunity I couldn't pass up and want to provide a light for others to show that they have endless, untouched potential.

The Rennes School of Business aims to reveal an international view of the business world and has become one of the most innovative, responsible, and resilient schools in Europe. Also, the institution prepares its students to become creative and accountable in a global environment. Students are taught to become responsible pioneers through a life-long and multicultural human experience. Rennes School of Business's five core values of freedom, creativity, coldness, humility, and openness are interwoven and aligned with what I've learned at Lamar University.  Having a good work ethic is a value I feel is essential, and I will relentlessly pursue a goal and will not stop until it is achieved. With my leadership skills continuing to develop, in addition to my strong work ethic, these study abroad experiences would provide tremendous opportunities for my future business endeavors.

I know I would not be where I am now without the support Lamar, family, friends, and coworkers have provided. Generosity and empathy cannot be taught, and I know that giving help requires certain wisdom to understand how to help and when. I very much appreciate what Lamar University and others have provided to me. In the future, I will not hesitate to share with others the opportunities Lamar University and the Rennes School of Business have given. I would be thrilled to study abroad in France and believe this would benefit my professional business career. I will pursue opportunities to network and actively participate to gain skills and perspectives of the international business world that otherwise might not be possible. Building professional relationships and learning how to become a true professional is something I want to provide for future businessmen and women. I am asking for any additional financial support you can provide, and any amount would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all! :)

    Got A Scholarship!
Hey everyone! I got a scholarship this week that covers 75% of my study abroad costs! For some reason, FundMyTravel won't let me go in and change the amount I need for my trip, but keep in mind that I still need $1,613. I appreciate everyone's support up to this point and will continually give my best at work, Lamar, and especially in France! Thank you!
