Help Mel study French in the magical city of Paris
My Travel Story
Background story:
You know how people always ask kids to talk about their dream jobs when they're like 5 years old, and they're mostly like "I wanna be a cop", or "an astronaut", or "a ballerina". Well, my answer was a bit different . I said "I wanna travel the world! Camp in the middle of Amazon, build a fire and cook fish over it like in the movies". It was funny because everyone tries to find a way to make money, but my dream mostly needed money,
a lot of it actually.
among all the places I wanted to visit, Paris was the dream. I was 15 when I saw an ad on TV of a show starring Nathalie Mentha, an Italian actress. The name of the show was "The First 100 Years Of Edith Piaf". I didn't know any French but it seemed so familiar and so sweet when I heard the melody.
" Non, rien de rien
Non, je ne regrette rien "
I just immediately fell in love with it and got tickets. It was a magical night and made that dream even bolder.
fast forward to 2020, it was in the pandemic that I started my French language journey . I was determined and so passionate about studying French I literally spent hours and hours every day, studying, listening to Barbara Pravi, watching dix pour cent. It truly made me happy .
Studying French in Paris is the biggest dream of mine, it is the ultimate desire of my heart.
Though, there are so many financial problems I am facing today. I am a university student with no income, and my mother being a single parent is currently a psychiatry resident, basically a student like me, with not enough income to be able to support me. I never expected her to do more than she could, so I am here to tell you how much your donation means to me :))
- Apart from the personal aspects of it, I'm hoping that this journey will help me represent my cultural background as a Persian girl to a wider range of audience. I want to be an ambassador representing the authentic Persian culture.
- Among all the different cities in which I could kickstart my language journey, I chose Paris because I think it is the heart of the French culture and the diversity and the hustle and bustle of the city is truly magical and extraordinary. The terraces, the vintage shops, the smell of fresh croissant and perfume, the beauty of Louvre and ofc la tour Eiffel, there's so much to name.
Warmly
Mel
