Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

My 19-year-old daughter, Norah, is a passionate and dedicated nursing student in her third year of training. This April, she has the incredible opportunity to complete a 10-week internship at the Academic Hospital Paramaribo in Suriname. This experience will allow her to expand her knowledge, develop essential skills, and learn how to provide quality care in a healthcare system that operates with fewer resources than in the Netherlands.

Why Suriname?

Suriname’s healthcare system presents unique challenges that require nurses to be resourceful, adaptable, and innovative. By working alongside local professionals, Norah will gain firsthand experience in providing excellent care with limited medical supplies—an invaluable lesson in resilience and creativity. Additionally, this internship will expose her to a rich and diverse cultural environment, allowing her to develop a broader perspective on global healthcare.
