Hello, my name is Alexis Jones, and I am going to go to Japan this summer for 4 weeks to study Japanese. I have been learning the language on my own and previously with a private tutor. I plan on after college going to live in Japan to teach English in the Japanese school district. This opportunity to study in the country I want to eventually work and live will be extraordinary and amazing. The funds I am trying to raise will assist me with my airfare for the program. I was awarded an academic scholarship that paid for 90% of the tuition, meals, homestay, and insurance but we are responsible for our own flights to and from the country. Again, this opportunity is once in a lifetime and I am so excited to be able to study and live in a foreign country while only being a freshman in high school. Along with studying the language in Japan, I will also be granted 4 college language credits from Tulane University after I complete the 4 week program. I am asking for you to open your hearts and wallets to help me reach my goal to help get me to Japan this summer!! Thank you very much and I will make sure to take full advantage of what this program will offer.
