My Travel Story

My dream is to travel the globe and learn all the skills of the world - from Antarctica to Africa! I yearn for new experiences and broadening my horizons, through exploring brave new worlds and retracing the footsteps of ancient heroes.

If I could, I would devote the rest of my life to learning ancient arts, crafts and local skills - from making perfect pasta in Italy to building a fishing rod in Sweden or a house in the Rainforest!

I've always put off travelling, focussing on earning an income and living month to month. I'm a 39 year old, partially deaf woman who has spent most of my career working in PR and Marketing. I can plan publicity campaigns and manage a team yet I don't know how to make anything with my hands or survive in the wilderness. It seems crazy to me that I can write a press release but I can't milk a cow, build a fire or crochet a tablecloth! 

It's time to change that and focus on discovering the world, trying new experiences and learning all that mankind has to offer. I want to see and try as much as physically possible - from making my own halloumi in Cyprus to basket weaving in Africa and crab fishing in Alaska. 

I'm allowed to try my hand at anything that doesn't pose a risk to my hearing so while I may not be able to dive into the watery depths or pursue everything those with full hearing can, I am still excited about developing my skills and seeing the world.
