My Travel Story
Hi everyone! I’m Alvin, a product designer from Hong Kong. During my toughest times, I often asked myself what I would do if I only had a year or three months left to live. This question helped me identify my true passions: helping those in need in developing countries and creating art.
A Designer’s Dilemma
I frequently wondered about the meaning of design. Despite working on many projects, I struggled to find the answer. It hit me that we design products to improve our lives, yet I felt lost and unhappy as a designer. It seemed absurd to create for others when I didn’t know how to live myself.
Instead of focusing solely on design, I realized I needed to learn how to live. My intuition led me to the idea of learning from nature.
My Plan for the Next Few Years:
- Learn from nature in Australia (1 year)
- Practice meditation to strengthen my metal in India (6 months)
- Volunteer in developing countries (6 months)
- Create my art in Hong Kong (6 months)
I’ve already spent six months in Australia, but I currently have only $2000 AUD. I would appreciate any support to help make this plan a reality.
