My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Anthony and I am planning a trip to the Balkans. This trip will be part of a study abroad program called the Balkans: Identity and Conflict. The purpose of the trip is to immerse ourselves in the former soviet states of Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, and Hungary. These countries are great areas to study identity and the way it effects folks’ understanding of themselves on a cultural, ethnic, and nationalistic level. I am a Political Science major, and I am pursuing two minors, one in Organizational Leadership, and another in Sociology. This mix of disciplines is designed to prepare me to take on the challenge of operating a non-profit organization with the mission of increasing civic literacy. The comparison analysis of identity that I will receive on this trip will allow me to more fully understand the behaviors that our identities motivate and how that impacts our relationships communally. I live in a small town on the central west coast Florida and it mean everything to me. I have designed my entire degree path to do the most I can to make it a better place for my children. When we moved her after my father’s death I had never made a connection to any place we live because my father was in the navy and we moved often. This place became my home town and it’s here I developed my passion to for servant leadership. Your help with this goal will allow me to take the time away from my work and concentrate on this research. Without your support, it may not be possible for me to do that.   • Technical Difficulty

    Technical Difficulty
    Hey! I wanted to update Y'all on all the exciting things happening. First, I have filed for my passport, and should receive it by mid to late November! I was also able to buy an amazing anti-theft backpack to carry my things in as I move about the cities. Both milestones are thanks to you all for your donations, and sharing my campaign. So, Thank you! Some less exciting news is that my laptop has stopped working and as an online student that can be quite a challenge. For now, I am faring well by going to the library and doing my work there. I fear that this will not be a feasible solution when I travel though. finding, a library is one thing but whether or not I'll be able to access the computers there is completely another. I've increased my goal by the cost of a new moderately priced computer and hope that you all will continue to help me as much as you can by shearing and donating the campaign link. Thank you once more for all your help, it means the world to me.
