Dear all,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am reaching out to share with you an incredible opportunity that has come my way. My name is nuwan , and I am a dedicated second-grade teacher from  SL. For the past four years, I have been privileged to educate and inspire young minds, and I am thrilled to have been accepted to teach at The DREAM Project nonprofit summer school in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, for five weeks.

Education has always been my passion, and I firmly believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances. Having been born and raised in the Sri Lanka, I am acutely aware of the disparities in educational opportunities that exist around the world. It is this awareness that has led me to seek opportunities to serve students in other countries, to share my knowledge, and to help uplift children everywhere.

This opportunity holds special significance for me, as I am the granddaughter of a Dominican immigrant. My beloved grandmother, My father , immigrated to SL in pursuit of a better life for herself and future generations, including myself. 

By participating in The DREAM Project summer school, I hope to not only enrich the lives of the students I teach but also to gain a deeper understanding of my heritage and cultural roots. This experience will enable me to speak more confidently to my students about the importance of embracing and celebrating diversity, as well as sharing their own cultural traditions and practices.

I am reaching out to you today to request your support in making this dream a reality. The cost of flights, accommodation, food, and other personal expenses for five weeks in the Dominican Republic is significant, and I am seeking assistance to help cover these costs. Any contribution you can make, whether big or small, would be greatly appreciated and would make a meaningful difference in my ability to participate in this life-changing experience.
