My Travel Story

by: Morghan Lemmenes Start Date: Oct 4, 2016 - End Date: Feb 3, 2017
Everyone has a goal in their life. It is what motives them to do something. Whether it is a simple goal such as cleaning the house that day or a life goal such as working as an editor for a major publishing company. Goals give are there to give some people something to work for. My overall goal in life is to do something with books. Whether it is publishing, editing, or becoming an agent, I want a say in the choice of books that future generations will read. Books have a way of changing someone’s outlook on life and their values. So by choosing books, I will be able to help the world become a better place by the materials that people read. Being an English-Writing major will help with this goal. I will understand literature and the way it is written to fully appreciate the books that I publish or edit. That isn’t the only goal that I have in my life. Around six years ago, I have started the fascination with living in the United Kingdom. This dream developed even more after I traveled there twice. It started with wanting to live in England, but after I saw Edinburgh twice, I knew that that was the place for me. When I study abroad, I will get to know more about how to live on my own in a foreign country. This would be more like a trial run with living there, to see if I will like it, which I believe that I will love it. It will also help be establish contacts there and know where to live; it will help me to know how to live my life in Edinburgh. A goal provides a purpose in life. Even if people say that they don’t have any goals, it’s not true. They will always have goals even if they are not aware. My goal in life is to live in Edinburgh, Scotland and become a book editor, publisher, or agent.
