My Travel Story

Hello all! Let me start off by saying, I love plants. I think they are magical organisms that are vital to the well-being of earth. My dream is to study medicinal plants and how local cultures across the globe live symbiotically with them, while also utilizing their properties in respectful ways. I want to be able to incorporate these methods into healing people and teaching about personal sustainability across the globe. As a recent college graduate from University of Vermont, I have studied herbalism and environmental studies extensively. I have the unique and rare opportunity to be able to go study herbal medicine in Guatemala with the Alquimia-Centre of Healing Arts and Ethnobotany in Peru with the Runa Foundation. However, I lack the funds to be able to do these field research projects and internships in a real world setting. I need your help to be able to change the world, one plant at a time! In exchange for your support, I will send you magnificent post cards of personal photographs I will take of the flora and fauna, as well as, personal thank you messages featuring my ukulele Harvey and me :). 

These opportunities will change my life and could help me recieve funding for dissertation research and apply graduate school and also bring me one step closer to promoting vital change in health and sustainability! We are plants and plants are us. I want to learn from them and change the world!

I leave hopefully in March, but I need to raise the money ASAP to secure my deposit!
