My Travel Story

My name is Anna and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request. My 12-year-old son has never met his father in person. Though they’ve connected over the phone, the two have never had the chance to share a hug, a smile, or any of the special moments that come from being together in person. It breaks my heart to see my son long for a relationship that distance has kept from him.

I lived in Houston, Texas, for much of my life before I became pregnant and made the difficult decision to return to my homeland of Sweden to build a better life for my son. While we have been fortunate in many ways, the dream of reuniting my son with his father has always felt just out of reach. I have not been able to save enough money to make this trip happen.

This is why I’m turning to you, kind strangers, for help. I’m humbly asking for your support to raise $5000 so that my son and I can fly to Texas for the first time in over a decade. Not only would this trip allow my son to finally meet his dad face-to-face, but it would also give him the chance to spend Halloween with his father, creating memories that he will cherish forever.

My older sister and her family live in Houston, so we will have a place to stay, but the funds raised will be used for airfare and any remaining amount will go towards making this trip extra special for my son—perhaps allowing him to do some shopping or experience something unique in Texas.

He has been so patient and understanding, and I know he deserves this more than anything. Please, if you understand the importance of family and the pain of being separated from those you love, consider helping us make this dream a reality. Any amount, big or small, would mean the world to us.
