My Travel Story

I am a high school student and have a great love for marine conservation. I learned about ocean pollution while studying scuba diving and have been concerned about this environmental issue ever since. I started my own non-profit environmental organization two years ago to gather volunteers to clean up beach trash. This spring break I decided to embark on a volunteer trip to Costa Rica as a volunteer related to sea turtle conservation. Sea turtles are a strange and amazing species to me, and I love being close to the animals. Over the years of running an ocean organization I have learned that sea turtles are threatened by environmental pollution and have become very dangerous, which is why I want to volunteer and I hope to continue to contribute to ocean conservation through my own efforts.
