My Travel Story

This autumn I am planning a trip to the north of Sweden to a UNESCO heritage site called Laponia. There I will join a team of educators to share our knowledge of the area. I will make a presentation about heathlands in the Arctic environment.

Laponia is a unique place with a rich cultural heritage and natural biodiversity. It is home to the indigenous Sami people and their reindeer herds. The landscape is exceptionally beautiful with snow-capped mountains, alpine lakes and a river delta.

During this trip, I will discover more about the protected area and appreciate its authentic natural beauty. I want to encourage more sustainable travel and learn methods to be a better outdoor educator. I hope this trip will lead to more opportunities in heritage education and protection. 

I would also love to see the northern lights for the first time and meet people from the local community to become more aware of the challenges they face.
