My Travel Story

by: Aidan Cook Start Date: Dec 1, 2017 - End Date: Nov 30, 2018
I will be 14 years old when I visit Ghana in February 2019. I am trying to fundraise for my volunteering trip at a school in Woe, Ghana.

I am taking Geography, therefore this trip will be extremely beneficial for me educationally and personally. This trip will be with my school where several other students and I will use key teamwork skills to ensure a good education for the children which will provide them wither a brighter and better future. It will also provide me with key life skills and value my lifestyle due to me seeing the undeveloped areas of Ghana.

During my trip I will be taking on the role of a teaching assistant/sports instructor in an underprivileged school. This will provide a better quality education for the Ghanian children whilst they develop essential life skills. The travel company I'm travelling with is 'African Adventures'. They work with several projects in Ghana and other countries in Africa. The money raised will be going to the African adventures team who support several schools to provide a better learning environment. I will provide essential equipment for the pupils education.

Summary of what I will be doing:

  • Working with a school in Woe, Ghana to support their education
  • I will teach lessons and provide equipment to help their education and provide a stimulating learning environment.
  • It will be beneficial for me as it will develop my life skills, make me value my lifestyle more and educate me about various cultures and lifestyles
  • I will be fundraising to fund my trip which shows my determination to help others

I am extremely passionate about this trip as I like to help and support others as much as I possibly can. I strongly believe every child should have an accessible and good education to provide them with a more desirable future. It will be extremely beneficial for me and the students. This makes it a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am asking for a total of £1885 donations to help me visit a school in Woe, Ghana. Any donations would be extremely appreciated! Please support me with my future trip to Ghana!
