My Travel Story

I will be studying abroad in Costa Rica for all of spring semester 2017 (3 & a half months)! I'm currently a junior at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities studying Biology, Society, and Environment & two minors in Spanish Studies & Sustainability Studies. This program is going to enrich my knowledge of the environment & sustainability. I will be able to take what I have learned here in Minnesota & bring it to Costa Rica & bring back even more knowledge! There, I will be studying in the rainforest, visiting coffee farms, & much more. I will then have a one month internship in any field of sustainability of my choosing where I will apply all that I have learned to make real world differences. I'm very passionate about the environment & want to dedicate my life to saving this beautiful planet we call home. I'm also intrigued by Latin American culture & am so excited to immerse myself in a new culture so I'm able to learn & appreciate it even more. I would like to come back to the U.S. almost if not all the way fluent in Spanish. This trip will help me gain real world experience in the world of sustainability & increase my appreciation for different cultures than my own. I hope to help save the world, but I need as much help as possible getting there.
