My Travel Story

Hello All and Bless you for visiting this page.
My name is Ruby and I'm from Canterbury, Kent. I am currently in the third year of my history degree at canterbury christ church and I've decided to pursue the career of youth ministry worker. Before I start my course in September I feel that God is pulling me to go on pilgrimage to Rome.
Why do I need to do this:
Leaving the university will create a massive shock in terms of my mental health and independence. Travelling the ancient paths across Europe by camping and walking will provide me with the self-confidence, self-discipline and self-assurance that I feel that I need to do my career well. 

This will be a great cultural experience for me as well: understanding how to talk to different people, trying new foods, understanding the rich history of the Via Francigena.

What this money will go towards:
  1. funds for a safe place for me to sleep (most wild camping is illegal)
  2. food
  3. insurance
  4. ticket back home
