Hello Everybody!

I am currently going into my junior year at Whittier College. As a Political Science and Global and & Cultural Studies Double Major, Studying Abroad is a requirement for me to graduate. Many of you know it has always been my dream to travel the world and I was more than excited upon selecting my study abroad program to Myanmar/Burma! This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me to both be able to travel and have it bring me closer to my college degree.

This being said, I have been avidly working to fundraise the money necessary to cover my trip and I would really appreciate your support!
I have been fortunate enough to have received $750 dollars in scholarship money so far and am working over the summer as well as holding various fundraising events. Any amount of help goes a long way, even $5.00, and I will forever be grateful for your generosity.

Now I have been asked often as to why I chose the program in Myanmar (aka Burma). I chose this trip as it was a faculty-led program where I am receiving class credit as well as receiving cultural immersion and meeting one of my major requirements. Additionally, I believe that this faculty-led course will benefit me immensely as it will give me a first hand view on concepts and ideas I have learned in class and provide me with the opportunity to apply them to real world scenarios in Myanmar, all of which I hope to incorporate-along with my experiences and lectures from the course-in my final paper when it is time for me to graduate. Most importantly, such a trip would be invaluable for me to grow as a person and gain new perspectives.

In case this has not fully conviced you, I have also set up a reward system that might be just the thing to persuade you to help me out!

Reward System:
($10)Besides feeling all warm and tingly from doing a good deed by helping me out, you also get a BEAUTIFUL drawing of Myanmar and a handwritten letter of my travels. All this along with my everlasting gratitude.
($20) Along with my everlasting gratitute and the previous prizes, you also get a...wait for it...POSTCARD!
($50) Who gets a souvenir? You get a souvenir! All on top of the previous rewards!
($100) Big Winner Big Winner!! You get to come travel with me to Myanmar!! I will literally print out a picture of your face(please send me your prefered picture) and stick it on a popsickle stick and drag you everywhere with me, and take loads of pictures with me!! ( Credit is due where credit is due: This was not an idea of my own, so thanks to a previous travel campaign for the popsicle idea!)
