My Travel Story

by: Kati Hartwig Start Date: Sep 20, 2015 - End Date: Jan 17, 2016
Hi everyone! As I continue the journey to completing my master's, I have decided to intern abroad next summer. With the Interdisciplinary Communications program, interning abroad and gaining intercultural experience is an excellent way to make myself more marketable to future employers.

I chose Dublin, Ireland because of the amazing opportunities Ireland has, and the up and coming city that it is. Many businesses now house themselves in Dublin (such as the European and EMEA HQ's for Apple, Facebook, Twitter, Google, IBM, LinkedIn, Cisco, HP, Intel, and many more!).

I am beyond excited about this opportunity, but I need your help! Altogether, with the program fee and personal expenses needed (such as passport, travel, food, and of course an awesome souvenir for my supporters!), I'm looking at a total of $10,000 (US dollars). While I am able to use some of my financial aid for the program fee, I would still like to be able to pay for as much of it as possible.

I know we all have our own financial struggles, but if you can donate as little as $10 or $20, it will go a long way. Studying abroad has been a dream of mine for years, and as it slowly becomes a reality, I can't imagine not being able to fulfill this.

Feel free check out the program I'll be going through - CISabroad. And if you have any questions, please reach out :) Thank you all so much!

    Hey everyone!

Thank you to all who have helped my fundraising efforts so far - both on FundMyTravel and in person! I appreciate every little bit, and am so excited to say that I've officially sent in my $200 commitment for Dublin!! I'll be hearing from the Ireland site coordinator soon to get all my internship placement information :) I'm so excited and can't wait to keep sharing this journey with everyone!

    Best,
    Kati
