Hello Everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my page! If you don't already know me, my name is Kayla Scott and I am currently studying Peace and Conflict Studies and Contemplative Psychology at a Buddhist inspired university called Naropa University in Boulder, CO. I am studying abroad in Bolivia and Peru from Febuary to June of 2016, and I need your help to make my study abroad trip possible!

I am currently studying conflict transformation and learning about how indigenous people use alternative modes of healing through trauma in their judicial system. I have also been studying holistic approaches to development in third world countries and learning how to create culturally sensitive changes to address the ever-present that often occurs against indiginous populations.

I have persued a non-traditional educational path as a returning adult student, and I have found myself in need of financial assistance to make this trip possible. The study abroad program that I am participating in utilizes experiential learning that include but are not limited to an intensive homestay component, spanish language study, interactions with local communities and organizations who are fighting for woman's rights, indigenous people's right, the history of colonialism, eco-sustanability, and the right to access basic resources that the people in Bolivia and Peru need to survive.  This study abroad program will help me better understand the issues that people face in Bolivia and Peru, and I hope to create a photojournalism book of portraits of indigenous people that I meet while studying abroad.

I know this study abroad program will change my life, and I feel honored that you want to be a part of making this dream come true for me! Feel free to donate in lue of a Holiday Present!

Thanks in advance for making my study abroad dream come true!
