My Travel Story

First and foremost I would like to THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for taking a chance on me... here's my story.

I'm a  woman, on the verge of a spiritual awakening. I have been searching for answers a midst turmoil in and around me and I have stumbled upon many temporary solutions, all of which has left me baffled, confused.

Currently I'm at a crossroads personally as well as professionally, where all paths are quite unclear. This internal struggle has left a void, an abyss of sorts, of questions without answers and at times has left me defenseless against the seed of doubt that I have allowed others to plant in me, re-thinking every decision I have taken in my life so far. I have put my life on hold, waiting for the right answer, the right situation, unknowingly, and even my faith has been shaken. There have been times in which I believed my prayers are on "mute" and many others where I know I have been given the answers but I just couldn't recognize the signs. Searching for enlightenment or the next best thing, I came across the pilgrimage or the Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago).

I have seen how el Camino changes people, many of whom are friends of mine and upon knowing my decision to do the pilgrimage, have shared with me their wonderful testimonies. I've heard of how the Camino has inspired many and many others have found their way in life, and I'm hoping for that as well in my life. I want my moment of silence during the pilgrimage, where I have no other option but to trust and have faith, where I have to let go and listen and for once finish something from beginning to end without any sort of distractions to stop me. The only way to finish is to move forward and look for answers within me. I wish to leave behind all the mental, emotional and spiritual baggage, that gets heavier with time and come back home lightweight and ready to fulfill my purpose in life. Therefore I hope that you find it in your heart to support my quest to find myself along el Camino de Santiago. I know in my heart that my life will clearly have a new meaning, that my life's history shall be known as before and after el Camino de Santiago and I will have you to thank, for this opportunity.

Notes about the Pilgrimage:

*It usually takes from 30 to 45 days to complete the French Way (Camino Frances) from St. Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain ON FOOT!!! (not cheating, no trains, buses, bikes, simply walking)
*I will begin this journey on May 17, 2014.
*The costs of the trip is around $4,000 US dollars, this includes: airfare from San Juan, Puerto Rico to France, Public transportation to the beginning of the Camino, public transportation to Madrid and airfare back to San Juan, equipment, municipal shelters, and food. Nothing fancy, just the bare necessities to complete the pilgrimage. 
*If you are a business and wish to sponsor me with the gear, I will be more than happy!

  • I Have 13 Days Left And Raised Only 3%... HELP!!!

    I have 13 days left and raised only 3%... HELP!!!
    Hello Friends, 

    I do have some updates for you.

    First of all, I booked another gig that will help me at least get the plane ticket and I have to thank my friend (and Boss) Raul Mendez for that. Unknowingly, he is also helping me get to Santiago this May... I don't have a regular job yet, but these two gigs are sure helping me A WHOLE LOT!!!! 

    Also, I was graced with two miracles on my Camino already: as I mentioned before I won my backpack on a sweepstakes from Mochileo and I also miraculously got the funds to purchase the item that would become my best friend on this journey, MY SHOES!!!! :)

    Here I post a picture that my boyfriend Paco took of me while trainning with both the Backpack and my Boots!!! I WAS SOOOOOO HAPPY WHEN I GOT TO PURCHASE THEM!!!! I Don't know how it happened and where it came from, but I THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for my shoes!!! :D 


    Also...

  • 25 Days Left, 3 New Donors, 3% Accomplished And 1 Gig Booked!!!

    I am SO excited that Jose Barreto, Carlos Alberto Lopez and Dennis have joined me on this adventure with their donations! It was amazingly wonderful to receive that email with "YOU HAVE A NEW DONATION" on the subject line and to my surprise 3 friends took a leap of faith, believed in me and are making this dream a closer possibility.

    As I was talking to some other friends, this is a life-changing experience that I can't wait to start and knowing that many of you are making it possible, that many of you are helping someone else change their life, little by little is a gesture that warms any heart and that I am sure will have a great chain of blessings about to unfold in your lifes.

    Jose is now interested in taking on the same journey, and I would love to help you back whenever you are ready my friend :) Count on that!

    Also, I'd like to give thanks to Edwin David, who booked me on a gig that will help me get to Santiago as well, although he didn't know, he just helped me get closer to that life-changing Camino... the "Job World" here is getting tougher by the minute, and it sure has been more than challenging to get work, even if it's for a day. The day to day basics is getting really hard to meet, but THANKFULLY I can say, that with the Almighty rooting for me, everyday that seems an adventure comes with the prize that he always provides, and this challenge, this goal, this journey hasn't been the exception. I know I will book another gig and with the magnanimous help of all of you, I will walk those 800km to Santiago.
