I would be the first generation in my family to graduate from a university. I’ve seen how hard my parents worked throughout my whole life from coming from another country to having to adapt to a new culture they weren’t similar. Their hardship has taught me how important it is to pursue your dreams while acquiring a degree in order to be financially set and to be happy in general. It motivated me to be more ambitious and go for what I want while allowing me to embrace many incredible opportunities that come my way. During this experience, it'll give me a chance to understand more in depth the concept of public health. But not only through the views of being at a school in America but also through the opinions of what schools in other countries have to offer. This program will allow me to experience it hands-on on how the aspect of public health is different from their land to the USA. Getting the opportunity to study abroad will give me the chance to travel and see the world. While doing so, it'll allow me to gain new life skills through the learning environment that the country has to offer at social, academic, and professionally. For example, regarding social, it'll help me gain communication skills and see how different countries have different forms of communication that is best used within their culture. Overall, this program could enhance my understanding of the factors that affect public health locally and globally through the different teaching methods that the school at Botswana has to offer.
