My Travel Story

Hello! We are Ryan and Dekara and we are on a journey of healing and giving. We have been traveling through Mexico for the last year an a half with our dog and 2 cats. During this time we have explored Mexico City, Monterrey, San Luis and the Yucatán Peninsula. We have even experienced a shamanic healing ceremony in Puerto Múrelos. During this time we were always giving to the stray cats and dogs in the area. After seeing how horrible the stray situation was out here in Mexico it led us to start working at a dog rescue in Tecoh, Mexico. We wanted to give back to the community by helping them get the strays off of the streets and into forever homes in the US and Canada. This experience has been the most rewarding of all of them. Many people do not know the extent of harm that the dogs experience here in Mexico. We have seen cases where dogs have been burned, starved and dying. During our time here we were in charge of caring for 25+ dogs offgrid in the jungle and helped them get to their forever homes. This experience has been extremely rewarding in so many ways and we would like to keep this theme throughout the rest of our travels. We are leaving beautiful Mexico and we headed down south to Costa Rica. We will be traveling throughout all of Central America and hoping we can give to the communities and the animals in need along the way. Our goal is to continue south and throughout South America as well. We are currently traveling on our savings and we would appreciate any help that can be given. Peace love and blessings.
