My Travel Story

My trips to Africa and other many countries  for medical outreach.

My name is Esther Muema  34 years old female from Kenya in Africa,a clinician by profession on a volunteer mission to destinated hospitals and  medical clinics inorder to help many people get  preventive diagnostic and curative health care.I will do this through  volunteering to many countries across the world inorder to also grow and expand my career.My first stop will be in Tanzania! in East Africa.
 My responsibilities as a clinical volunteer entails:
1.Providing comprehensive and high-quality clinical services including (Take/review the patient’s history to ascertain the right clinical examinations and treatment and prescription of treatment) to patients.
2.Order investigation and interpretation of results for diagnosis and explain the results to the patients and the intended treatment.
3.Diagnose and institute appropriate treatment, write prescriptions, and carry out other treatment activities while ensuring that established treatment protocols are effectively followed.
4.Attend to emergencies presenting to the hospital and recommend referrals for cases that cannot be managed.
5.Ensure that all required observations and vitals, prescribed treatment and procedures are carried out and documented on patients’ charts.
6.Create phenomenal patient experiences, including counseling and sensitizing patients through health talks on preventive and promotive health.
7.Embrace, learn and develop in an evidence-based medical system.
8.Ensure effective clinical procedures, rules, regulations which are consistent with organization procedures.
9.When necessary, arrange for patient referrals or consultations for specialty or higher-level management.
10.Participate in outreaches or other activities such as health talks or community programs.
11.Handle patient data/ information confidentially at all times.
12.Prepare the weekly plans/schedules and reports.
13.Ensure that the clinic environment is safe and complies with infection control standards.
14.Document all aspects of patient care and maintain accurate and complete medical records.
15.Actively participate in clinical training programs, including on-volunteer job training and skills building.
