Greece Study Abroad
My Travel Story
My name is Sadyee Herndon and I am a junior at Texas A&M Galveston in Galveston, TX and I am writing this letter with much excitement for what God is doing in our lives and the lives of others! He is so faithful and powerful.
This summer I will be traveling with a group of Marine Biologist to Greece, to serve on a short-term study abroad trip with Texas A&M Galveston. The purpose of this trip is to research the ecosystem of marine life. We will be joining a dolphin researcher in Vonitsa Greece to help with dolphin research. Vonitsa Greece is a small town in Greece that is about four hours way from Greece. We will be flying into Athens Greece on June 29 before noon then drive to Vonitsa. We will be staying in Vonitsa for about two weeks to do research, class, and cite seeing. At the end of the trip we will be flying out of Athens to home.
Ever since I was a young girl I have wanted to work with animals and over the last two years at Texas A&M I have developed a deeper passion to make a positive impact on the lives of marine animals. As a student majoring in Marine Biology, I am ready to express this passion in an overseas internship experience that will help me to learn firsthand about my interests in marine biology study abroad program that will allow me to discover innovative research and guidance about diverse marine ecosystems.
The study abroad trip dates are June 29, 2020 through July 9, 2020. The first and most important thing I am asking for is your prayers for safe travel and an educational experience. I am also asking for financial support if, and only if, God lays it on your heart to support in this way. I am SO grateful for any amount of donation which will cover my airline ticket, course fees and living expenses. It is necessary that I raise the money by April 3, 2020.
This study abroad and internship experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity that only 14 students were chosen for and I am extremely excited that I was one of them. As you can imagine, embarking on this on this trip depends on financial support. The program fee is $8000, which includes program fees, tuition, housing, day to day meals, and international airfare. My fundraising goal is $6,000 to cover those expenses. So far, I have been fortunate enough to work part-time to help fund my expenses, but this is not enough. I ask for your help in making a donation towards this study abroad program in Greece. Your contributions will help me complete my university program requirements and will help me take part in a life changing opportunity.
I have no doubt this experience will be life-changing and I am excited to share it with you. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
