Help me achieve my study-exchange dream!
My Travel Story
I have been accepted to go on a 6-month study exchange to either Vrije University in Amsterdam or to the University of Coimbra in Portugal. This has been an experience which I have been working towards for over a year now, and I have invested an immense amount of work and effort into making it happen.
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of living and unfavourable exchange rate, such an endeavour will prove to be very costly. There is a severe housing crisis in Amsterdam, rendering accommodation incredibly scarce and expensive. Coimbra, on the other hand, is very affordable in comparison — however, there is not a bilateral exchange agreement between Wits and Coimbra, and I would therefore have to pay €240 (R5000) for each of the 6 university courses that I need to take.
I have been working and saving up as much as I can, but this will not be enough to finance my trip. Therefore, I'm kindly asking family and friends to donate anything they can in an effort to support me on this journey! Any donation would be profoundly appreciated, and would go towards the payment of rent, flights, food etc.
