Five years ago, my mom had to make the hardest decision of her life, leaving everything behind to escape my fathers abuse. She went abroad in search of safety and a better future for both of us, but in the process, we were separated. Since then, she has been stuck in immigration, and I have been longing for the day I can finally see her again.
Not a day goes by that I don't miss her warmth, her love, and the comfort of simply being by her side. She is my world, my strength, and my greatest supporter, and after all she has been through, she deserves to be with her daughter again.
