My Travel Story

The whole purpose of this trip is to enjoy one last crazy couple of weeks with my best friend before we go off to college. Sure, we will keep in contact, but the likelihood of us keeping up with each other enough for another major trip like this is slim, so we wanted to jump on the chance. My best friend has also never been out of the country, and I have never been out of the continent, so we would both be exposed to a new culture. I, personally, have a big interest in Japan's technology and music, and my friend has more of an interest in their art and culture. We both love history, so we are planning to try and hop on a few tours, especially one about Mt. Fuji and some about their calligraphy and pottery. We also want to visit some shrines and temples to learn more about Japan's religious views. Of course, we will also plan to have some traditional young-adult fun such as exploring Tokyo itself and doing some more "modern" type of tours. We have even taken up the liberty of our spare time to study Japanese and learn it, just enough so we won't have to ask if anyone speaks English every 5 minutes. We've also taken the time to study into Japan's customs, laws, and traditional etiquettes so we don't offend anyone to the best of our ability. The most pressing issue is the cost of the whole trip as we want to make the most out of it before we leave, and we both have jobs, but it just may not make it. We've already discussed other options to attempt outside of work and school such as garage sales and picking up extra jobs like babysitting, but those profits are only based on "if." Our parents have already agreed to the idea, so it's only a matter of what we can do on our own to get there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

NOTE:
-This is the cost for both of us combined, so whatever is generously donated here, I will personally be sure half of it goes to my best friend.
-This cost is mostly just for being able to survive in general. Anything more will be on our own expense for our own enjoyment.
-We also must be picky for hotels just to accommodate free wifi as we will not be able to contact our families otherwise.
