“The Asia Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE) is a program that responds to the global need of meaningfully including the youth in SDG initiatives. By simulating SDG policy formulation and project execution, youth delegates are given a unique opportunity to learn and hone the skills necessary to participate in sustainable development initiatives.”

A bit of background about myself, I am a 22 years old undergraduate student studying in Malaysia who is extremely eager to make a positive impact in my community and nation, particularly in the aspects of social, politics and economics. I have always aspired to run a Social Enterprise in Malaysia to help tackle some of the social issues currently existing in the region. Also, I am currently looking to kickstart a Mental Health Awareness Initiative in Malaysia to educate Malaysians on the how to take appropriate care of their mental and emotional well being.

A quote by Jackie Robinson can be said to best describe my personal value in life, that is “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives”. Personally, the meaning of my life is measured by the kind of impact I leave behind after I am gone from the surface of the earth.

In conclusion, I am immensely grateful to be selected to participate in the program as I am extremely passionate with UN's SDG initiatives. I am adamant by joining this program, I will be able to equip myself better to be a better servant to the communities around me. Unfortunately, I will need financial support to take part in this program as I am currently living on a restricted budget that does not allow me to spare the amount needed. I hope that you would take the leap of faith to invest in my potential, to believe that I may one day galvanize a positive impact in the world.
