My Travel Story

The high seas rally Cruise happens annually. Each year they choose 10 dialysis patients to take on the cruise and give them the dialysis treatments they would normally get during that week on the cruise ship. If you know anything about dialysis treatments and how they work you know that it is not easy to get far away from home because most dialysis patients have to have three treatments per week. The expense of the treatments are so high that most people who are on dialysis are on a fixed income and without medical insurance cannot afford it. When on a cruise ship you are in international waters so the medicare/medicaid does not pay for dialysis treatments on cruise ships. The high seas rally Cruise raises money each year to be able to take 10 patients and pays for the treatments on the cruise. This is an amazing thing they do for people who otherwise would not be able to go on a cruise. To me this will be a life-changing experience as it was when I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. My life has not been the same since diagnosed December 2020.  Any money raised I plan on donating 10% to The High Seas Rally Dialysis fund so that in the future other dialysis patients can experience what I am about to experience.
