My Travel Story
We are an LGBTQ+ blended family and have three unique children being raised by two ambitious mothers. We work full time in the education sector in mental health and teaching - hard work but rewarding. However, we found ourselves both staring in through the window of a local Dominos franchise, and worked out we would be more financially and economically stable delivering pizzas of an evening. This life is not the rat race we want for our children, and we are looking to propose a social study in living life off the grid - going in directions not dictated by societal norms and expectations, and documenting this through social media, blogs, vlogs and books.
We realised very quickly after this, that when your children’s biggest dilemma in life is having no Wi-Fi before school, things need to change!
With our Masters degree and school experience behind us, and only uncertainty ahead, we made the decision to jump. Get the fear. Our children are unique, our circumstances are unique, and we are unique. We have been faced with the most adverse challenges of late, including medical diagnoses, mental health struggles, and LGBTQ+ prejudices close to home. We want to move beyond this; to inspire others to see that anything is possible. The aim of our niche would be to document this more diverse lifestyle via social media influence and literary work, with a view to produce a series of books which inform and provide content to those also seeking more from life than the day to day. We want to provide insight into this through both the eyes of an LGBTQ+ relationship navigating life in other cultures and religions, and through the eyes of children reflecting on their own education.
